Bruce Kuhn, a good friend and fantastic actor, developed a style of scripture performance he calls “narrative evangelism.” Basically he aims to study, grasp, and memorize the text so that he can tap the author’s primary intent(s) and bring the meaning to hearers. In a church world where many of us are numb to the scripture, bored by boring reading and overexposure—Hopefully we have experiences of hearing the scripture in this vein, because it’s very powerful.
