Using Sketches From This Site

Hi. I’m so glad you’ll be able to use these sketches. There are just a few things I’d like you to know as you dive in:

• Your purchase gets you the script plus performance rights for this sketch in your context. It gives you permission to copy just as many scripts as you need in order to produce a performance—generally one per acting part and one director’s script.
• Purchase does not give you permission to reproduce, make extra copies, share, or sell my work. Please purchase for your use only; if someone else asks you for copies, refer them directly to this site. My capacity to continue writing depends on my ability to pay bills, do upkeep on my computer, and have a place to live. By purchasing from this site you support the creation of more art! (In other words, I promise I’m not getting rich.)
• Sometimes scripts require adjustment to work appropriately in a particular context. If you need, without changing the essential meaning and gist of the script, to make minor adjustments – change a word here or there or the gender of a neutral character – please do. I’m happier to have my work be useful than I am to have it sit pristine on a shelf.
• If you need to make significant changes to a sketch (delete or add a character, have someone speak in King James English, change a plot), please contact me so we can confer. I almost always say Yes, but I’d like to be in on the conversation.
• If you make small changes and they really help the script, please let me know. I’m happy to discover ways to be a better writer and create better scripts. If you need a script that isn’t here or would like me to create something new for you, please contact me.
• This works on the honour system. Since it’s likely you’re a person of faith, I am hoping you will understand and abide by this request. Thanks.
